September 2022 Tackling Disaggregation, 6G and Green at NGMN IC&E 2022

September 2022

Abstract

Highlights from the NGMN Industry Conference & Exhibition 2022 held on September 7-9 in Paris, France. After a COVID-19 induced 4-year long hiatus, the Next Generation Mobile Network (NGMN) Alliance successfully pulled off its bi-annual global Industry Conference & Exhibition event at the prestigious Pavillon d’Armenonville located in Paris’ notorious Bois de Boulogne. Well attended by over 250 people, everyone expressed an immense joy at reconnecting in person since the last event was held in Vancouver in 2018. As the host, Orange deployed an impressive roster of executives and engineers led by Chief Technology & Innovation Officer Michaël Trabbia and Group CTO and SVP, Orange Innovation Networks Laurent Leboucher, and a comprehensive set of innovative demos centered around open RAN, green and sustainable networks, all addressed in more details by several Orange speakers during the event. This year, the conference was focused on NGMN’s 3 major themes: 1. Mastering the route to disaggregation – Day 1 (September 8) 2. 6G – Day 1 (September 8) 3. Green future networks – Day 2 (September 9) The full text of the research note is available to LightCounting subscribers by logging into their accounts.
